This wine is perfectly balanced, just like its namesake perched on a hilltop in Italy. Although Brunello (40%) brings powerful tannins and elevated acidity to this blend, those are tempered by the thick-skinned Montepulciano (30%), with softer tannins and juicy, fruit flavors. The perfect balance in this three-wine blend is completed with the savory, bell pepper-like flavors and mouthwatering fruits showcased in the Cabernet Franc (30%). Expect flavors such as wild cherry, blackberry, boysenberry, and plum. Subtle notes of dried tobacco, thyme, or oregano, may also present alongside hints of chocolate, clove, and other peppery spices. Versatile pairings include beef tenderloin, lasagna, chili, goat cheese, lentil soup and Mediterranean style pizzas topped with olives and fire-roasted red peppers.
