O Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo?

As we are well into April, and spring is almost in full swing, we are pleased to bring you our first VINtage red wine from this year’s collection, Romeo. If you have been in the winery recently, you might have tried Juliet, a Grillo and Pinot Grigio blend (more about the Juliet next month); thus, it only seems right to release her forbidden lover, Romeo.  Romeo is a grafted French varietal, Marselan, which is a grape bred from Grenache and Cabernet Sauvignon. On the nose of this red VINtage, you might pick up a spice of red currant, dried strawberry, hints of clove, and rose petal. Romeo is a medium body red wine with light to medium oak. Dignified by a traditional French terroir, the pallet of Romeo brings dried strawberry in from the nose, along with tobacco and finishes with a bold vanilla. As we head into warmer weather, this easy drinking Marselan will become a go to for your everyday drink as it does not need any food pairings to bring this wine to life.
