Water 2 Wine-DTC - Making Wine "Green" Everyday!

Visit Us on the Web – Click Here Did you know that on average, Water 2 Wine-DTC pours 192 bottles of wine in its tasting room each week?  That equates to almost 10,000 bottles each year that Water 2 Wine-DTC pours in its tasting room alone. According to the Glass Packaging Institute, only 37% of each and every glass bottle purchased in the U.S. is currently being recycled. Here’s some good news… Did you know that Water 2 Wine-DTC sends each and every bottle it pours to a local recycling facility?  If sent to a landfill, a glass bottle can sit for up to a million years.  However, if you recycle your glass bottles, it can take as little as 30 days for a recycled glass bottle to be processed and appear in the store again as a new glass container. By recycling 100% of the glass wine bottles that are poured in the tasting room at Water 2 Wine-DTC, the winery is saving 1198.08 kilowatt hours each year.  What does that mean?  That many kilowatt hours is the same thing as leaving one 100 watt light bulb on for 16 months straight.  In addition, through Water 2 Wine-DTC’s glass recycling efforts alone, it is helping save almost 5,300 pounds of sand each year.  That much sand would fill an average sandbox in a playground.  Next time you’re sipping Exotic Fruits White Zinfandel on the beach, with your toes in the sand, send us a telepathic “thank you” for keeping the sand on the beach!
