Wine Definition of the Day

Visit Us on the Web – Click Here Here is today's wine related definition: "FIRM SKELETON" - Firm means a stronger sense of tannins, which come from the wine’s grape skins, seeds and stems., and possibly from oak barrels. They are an essential element in the structure of red wines. While they may be astringent and bitter in a young wine, they prevent spoilage as the wine ages (In a high-quality wine they soften with age but in a poor wine, they don’t). Skeleton describes the body and balance of the wine!
